oooookeee....today i'm taking my day off and hand off from my modelling tools, so take a break. Maybe tomorrow i'll put some updates on Prototype CD 18.0 models.
But today i'm in the mood telling you some funny stories which i always encounter everyday on my way to work.
You see every day i always go to work on my cute little car (actually it was my mom ideas getting this Mr. Bean car for me. One Red color and another is Violet) Its a 4 seater Daihatsu Mira variant with local facelift kits. Very economical fuel saving car ideal for small city that can slot any small gaps between any roads and can max up to 160km/h.
As a driver for a small car there's alot of funny encounter along the way when you drive on the road especially those kind of expression around the people who drive along beside the road. Just image how do you feel if you're driving a brand new superhourse power BMW, Mercedes, Lexus or other luxury car been dusted/smoked by small cheapo car and if its behind you it still can catch up with you infront of the public 10x times cheaper than your. You sure felt ashame having chased by a small car even you push your expensive horse power to the max....what a shame putting hundred of dollars for supercar been screwed by a small car and yet could catch up at heavy traffic and higways..bwaaahahaahhaaa.
If you're driving this small car you can easily test some driver physcology who drive along near by you.
DRIVER PSYCHOLOGY TEST:

#1. Whenever there is a small car infront of them definately they will try to by pass you or cut the line thinking small car is slower than bigger ones even though the small ones move faster than them.

#2. Small car are annoying to them. They are slow. Powerless. Easily to bully and have no respect due to its value....that's what the bug car owner think of you. Try this one out. If you drive a big car at slow pace and tumble a car that's trying to move out from the side junction definately they will wait you to pass safetly. But if you're on small car and driving fast they don't give a damn and just press the accelerator. So what did i do...yeah hit the gas and make them a day they wont forget.

#3. Small car is like a small fly around you. They just pissed you off. If you driving a small car and try to cut over a big slow moving expensive Mercedes Benz and back into the speeding lane leaving him/her behind you ..later you can see that car will chase you back to gain the actual driving lead and take back the shame of getting dusted by small car. This rich man car behaviour is called "cover shame", it means "My car is not some cheap loser and shall not bow to poors man car" that what's in some every luxury driving have in mind. you may encounter this kind of driver 80% chances in long stretch urban area.

#4. Parking behaviour. 87% percent of small mini car owner will suffer dented doors due to harsh bang by another big car doors regardless the driver or the passenger itself. When they notice they make a dent they won't notify a sorry message yet they walk away with it and say "Ah, cheap car..he can fix it in less than a pack of toilet paper. Small car owner should install Teslas coil if they car about their car...every played Command & Conquer strategy game game?

#5. If there's a traffic jam people will blame the small car that cause the problem even though its the other car that stall infront of it but is a physcological behaviour, its a common sense you'll need to find something weak to blame on.

#6. When driving a small car 70% of the time you will encounter a big car behind you speeding doing the so called "drafting" or bumper to bumper kiss telling you to move over and make way for them event though there a big space on the left or right side to by pass.

Above may be some cons but small car can also have pros and big advantages. Other than fuel efficientcy and space saving size below are few advantages:

#1. Is small width measurement help you do evade heavy traffic. Not only can sip though small gaps but you can also join use the public sidewalk along with jay walker if you're in desperate situation, plus this ca are lightweight and can easily climb over some roadside obstacles. When you do that try pull down the windows and give them a smile to those who stranded in the traffic. You'll sure be invited with some fingers and angry jealous mobs. Laugh all the way bros.

#2. Small car have small turning radius. It handles almost like a Go Kart or mini grandprix car. You can drive anywhere inside the urban building, shopping mall corridor or public recreation park. If you watch the movie "The Italian Job" you'll know how fun it is. Just remember the security guards.

#3. Here some fun part. Most cars will probably try to catch up with you and gain position infront of you to so called "cover shame" or "taking back pride". If this happens keep cool and relax, if the guy behind you giving an impression that he felt insulted by your car for cutting him off give him some taste of your medicine. Try get away from him but at safe speed and distance but if he trying to cut you off from the side and giving and evil grind or some bad expression on you. Keep the speed at parallel rate and look out for another car infront of you. If another car infront of you located at the same side/lane where your opponent trying to cut you out then you're in luck...maintain speed and block em. He or she will back off and return back to kiss and eat some dirt/smokes behind you again. If you keep on doing it on along they way you'll notice the car will back off from you and away from you at slower speed indicating he's losing to you and pretending that "oh, its just some itches on my leg that pressed some gas on the car..why should i bother with small car". I'm sure when he/she get back home she'll get stressed and shame of his/her own car for losing to el cheapo car and yell some nonsense to his or her love ones. For you its fun messing around with peoples mind but remember don't do this often and always make way for ambulance or people who are in needs. Apply this wicked tricks to wicked and ego driver only. Hey don't tell people its me teaching you some bad stuff, use your own judgement. Always drive safe, wear seat belts, check air backm driving licence and remember god and his guardian angels.

Ok lastly i want to tell you some simple drving skills and technique on small cars.
Small cars doesn't have much handling and safety specification like as expensive car does but you can do some "know how to drive skills" on safe level.

1. Small car have lousy braking and cornering, When you brake in the straight line even though its a close range emergency brake DO NOT quickly pull the handbrake. Press the foot brake at 70% but do not totaly 100% lock the brake. Quickly shift "DOWN" the gearbox SEQUENTIALLY at fast pace to provide heavy mechanical engine friction which as a brake when transfer to the wheel. When the speed is at ease the you can press the foot brake at 90% to 100% so that the rubber tyre have time to grip the ground without skidding at high speed lock brake.

2. To slow down at the corner without having to suffer speed loss and speed gain after bypass the corner apply mild braking preasure and let go the brake a bit, use gearbox "DOWN SHIFTING" as your mechanical engine brake. The when the car is at stable cirnering position and the body doesn't tilt much apply the accelerator/gas to gain some speed and momentum when you almost clean the corner.

... need more tips wait for my next post

Very slow day today as i got stuck on my bed with flu on returning home. Good thing my brain is working as usual just the hand felt heavy for mouse click and dried eyes. So i did some future planing starting this coming month that i should expand my modelling capability to realism approach. As my models getting high polygon and demanding a better graphics to display actual design physic so there's a need for the game graphics to catch up. 4x4evo1 and evo2 are some great games for modelers to expand creativity, i'm planing to add another game into my list, yes you guess it "CRASHDAY" (http://www.crashday.com).
I've made several research about this game, indeed it has several criteria that interest me alot, the game graphics and physics match my taste. The wheels have radial blur effect as it spins, good camera angle like console Ps2 Granturismo, Life like handling, almost CG graphics, great crash and particle effect, lively environment effect......yup, it fits my check list. So far its not yet official that i'll jump into it but i've got enough budget to buy CRASHDAY game CD after i sold of models of custom classic cars to a Canadian client plus extra budget to fix an old computer with good power supply case. I'm also waiting to sell of another truck for my buddy who requested last December, that should give me enough cash for video capturing devices which will be used to record preview of upcoming models and designs....a major plus for vehcile models design publicity. I'll try to roam around down town for the game after i get well soon. yukkk!!...medicines suks.

The hot sun and the flu.

I woke up this morning hoping i could make a move on my hobby and update my website to bling* bling* status. There's something hold me back, head felt heavy, stomach felt like water reservoir, dryed body and watery nose **sniff **sniff. Heck i got flu! Recently o just get back home unpack my stuff and went out again to enjoy outdoors under the sun. It was damn hot and i went cycling without taking any waterbottle to hydrate me along the way so after hours i ended up like dried prunes. So woke up today i got it on the bed. So what i can do now is sleep tight an turn on the videos so i don't get bored. I got few box of tissue alright.

Progress: Rough windows.

Slow progress on Prototype CD 18.0 model. Just shape up a rough windows on the side wall of SUV and planning to partitioned the next day. Its really hard to shape up smooth glass surface for the windows because i have to bend some curve manually by hand since the modelling tools doesn't offer much on "auto curve spline" tools. Think it this job as pure hand made models. As usually this is weekends so mostly i take my time spending quality times playing games, watching videos and listen to music, plus settle some outstation part time jobs for my client. Also my stomach seems to be upset after several tasty prunes which spoil todays modelling mood. Not only that my forum at www.hostedboard.com add another bad hair day to the list. Good thing the chatbox running well to keep my buddies and the gaming community inform about the news and stuff. Weekends not really as good weather as thought to be, gloomy clouds, rains and windy. I plan to ride my mountain bike but mother nature keep everyone stay back at home. By night its really cold and windy. Listening to heavy rain drops on the roof and gushing winds really keep me thrill at sleep as we speak right now. Cold chilling and exciting night for me.

Crashed my forum!

Huuuaaaahhh!! i crashed my own forum when editing the configuation file. Since i can't get into the server and retrieve the backup looks like i have to create anoher one. booo hooo hoooo hooo...... Wait i have anothe one... lets not waste time, lets make one.

Day 2: Molding top sheet

As you can see the top section models started to mold an SUV shape. Still not finalize yet how the top body line and roof would look like. My aim is to design something between Euro American and have import feeling plus conceptual shape of concept 4x4 models. Since my mind boggling which shape it would take I decided to shift the 3d faces and vertices up and down left and right on the 3d modeler view pan to see how much sexy can this vehicle would be…roughly. Its just like swirl a sheet of paper around to come up with an idea once the shape take random form. NEMIXIS also was build this way too..... but this Prototype model CD 18.0 will soon triumph over NEMIXIS CD 12.0 because expected high poly and more complexity without having to depend on texture size. Today I bought some cheap used 2nd hand motors magazine to preview and get some ideas and acquire actual SUV size and measurement of base models so that I wouldn’t ended up building and oversize vehicle like my last models. lol

The making of prototype CD 18.0

____________
I guess some of you who are modeler knew the so called "Standard way" to build a 3d models of a vehicle. But if you jump into my world and start building one things might not look as expected. You see some profesional modeler start building by setting a layout of blueprint behind the scene and start modelling on top of it. That's why they are good at "REPLICATING" Me? i'm different. I start from a small object called the "ARC". Yup, starting from the fenders. Then from there i mold it like clay and let the hand decide what shape it would come out to be.
Now today you're going to witness realtime and step by step how Prototype model number "CD 18.0" was born. No official name yet given to this model but well give it later after the whole modelling process completed. This would take several days to complete a perfect vehicle model so keep on visiting my website and blog to see what happened during every process.

Todays tools i'm going to use is Z-modeler. Since i don't know how the hell CD 18.0 would look like but i know it would be like an off-roader similar to modern day 4x4 SUV but more toward Concept Design, My brain very clowdy and ambiguous so i'll start making some basic that is create round rods, slice it below to make it an arc as wheel fenders then attach straight sheet of plain polygonm bend on corners and now waiting to see what shape should i mold next on the side walls....what high poly? Yup, my intention going to be high poly. A GPU killer.

Test drive this..

Ahhh..... Today is a very special day.. What? oh....because today all my client works are completely done and my mind are completely set free from stress and burden. Now i can start thinking and continue making some custom models that i always dream of. As usual the further i go into time the higher to polygon would be. High? yup! Luckily i do some parallel working that is since i know i'll be making upcoming truck i've already created a perfect vehicle configuration file *.TRK performance setup sheet for my new offroader so that it wouldn't be such a hassle to make one after the models been completed. Good thing it was tested on my low poly TEST MODELS as shown above. Above? yup...this is my limited and very special models not yet open for download to the public. Yeahh keep on drooling peeps...lol. Ok..ok it will be available soon.

Get back home play RC plane.

Buuuuzzzzzzzz...z.zzz.z.zzz My very affordable RC airplanes simulator. All i need is just an analog Playstation joytick connected to PC via usb adapter and RIPMAX RC Simulator. Good thing this one doesn't spill the nitro and burst into flames. Got this cool game from a local shop and give it a try, very fun and really feels like your standing there alone watching your self fying and do some cool stunt without having to crash real ones. Time to show off some stuff to my buddy "Luke the Dude" at my local website forum. lol

Why drive when you can drift.

Lets..drift! Here something that i would like to tryout everytime i finish building a car or truck. If it drift smooth then its a major success and the setting built approved for fun ride instead of racing. Also see if the drift looks good with the design package. Drift is not about performance racing. Drift racing originated from japan is usually treated as an art of racing style. Like doing variable paintbrush tilting on the painting canvas. An ideal car for drifting usually should have broader body design with rear wheel base much wider than front base. The front should be narrow enough to sharp steer around the corner and quickly grips a perfect drift line. The rear should have wider body to lower the center gravity to avoid the car from tilting rollover sideways thus enough big weight momentum to skid sideways. Thats why any hatchback cars or rear engine exotics can drift much easily because of momentum and inertia store on it rear.

Looking for new ideas.....

Looking for inspiration? I got these cheap motors magazine from Friday special offer book stall. Now looking this new motors trend and understanding the design taste between both Euro, American and Asian import vehicle design. Seems that different country have its own identity of itself. I need to read those cuz somebody ask me to built something that is suits his hometown truck enthusiast. Also in the magazine most designs tend to be plastic feeling. The future is made plastics...where all the good hard aluminum body shell gone to?

Play is good

"All work and no play make jack a dull guy". Yup, all day work keeping me highly under preasure. I have this habit of buying some games but dump it aside after playing for few minutes. Maybe its the adult mentality when you grew old.... tired, lazy, sleepy and no time to play this and that. Everything concentrated on making some income for family and my love ones, so busy with commercial stuff. Usually i always planned to play games whenever i get back home from work thinking all those drooling FPS game, Half-life 2, Splinter Cells, HALO, NFSMW, FIA GTR racing, JANES F/A18 flight sims and etc. But at the end its other way around....i get back home, take bath, iron my shirt, having dinner, 30min watching tv at 8.00pm. 30 minutes later my head started to spin and began to yawn, body getting heavier, eyelids heavy....almost grab those mouse and keyboard but it looks like my distance between my joypad and my hand become to far to reach, the gap become wider and wider. At the end of the day i fail to enjoy some cool games. And as usual i woke up time at 2.00am where i have to brush my teeth, stir some hot coffee and began my part-time work as 3d modeler/artist until the next rooster call at 7.00am...Everyday with my trusty 3d modeler program, Corel and the internet.

Models benchmarking

Today i tryed audit some of the models i've created and benchmark its 3d processing power on my system. Visually the wheel models have reach it polygon limit where so called "visual smooth poly" have reach it peak where polygon count is not much of concern since there nothing to improve on. The current models that i've created called "NEMIXIS CD 12.0 XL-GT" almost killed any 2005 top notch PC spec because its polycount is much heavier than any average models available in any racing games. Looks like all i need to do next on my models is smart polygon management everytime i need to created the next models for end 2006 and 2007 and try to outsmart the default texture size 512x512 in EVO2 on how to make it details without killing the texture space and wasted UV mapping. Check the picture above, NEMIXIS polygon versus the game environment.

Reconnected....finally

Finally my ADSL internet connection is restored, its about time those TMNUT (TMNET company) get my life back in place. Been through tremendous headache for 5 days without internet especially those people trying to reach me for urgent business.
The internet at my office won't help me much of transferring files over ftp and it banned access tp specific site via company proxy because our MIS boss restrict access to unknown site that includes www.blogger.com. Looks like everthing have to be done at home. Anyways good thing i'm back, my hotmail clogs with mails, unreplied forum, un-updated blogs, delays FTP some files and etc. Still my biggest fear is my client who may think i'm Missing In Action for 5 days. Meanwhile my buddy Kevin bought me a simple software for my birthday for me to record in-game scene into standard AVI video capture, it really help alot to recording in-game event since i have some plans for some 4x4evo1/2 video clips. 40GB hardisk space already clear off for video recording swap to record special moment driving on my custom made vehicle. Probably make a cool trailer of up coming off-roader after 5 months soon.

Spank da ISP! Again?!

Once again a day after my broadband internet connection recovered the exchange connection line is down again! since last friday. Till now there no available connection running at my home for 3 days! Shizt! I've contacted this poopy people at TMNUT! (TMNET) http://www.tm.net.my/ for help. Yeah right, called them 7 times a day for 3 days. What are these people are doing, sitting behind munching lunchbox and waiting some hefty customer money in their pocket for free!??! Here some extra links for your FAQ about our ISP http://www.google.com.my/search?hl=en&q=tmnet+sucks&meta= I'm sure my client gone screw me for MIA with some of the modelling project for not being repond some feedback over the net. This afternoon i'm going to their ISP HQ and kick their lazy butt!

Yesterday night drive.

Yesterday after work, i took my time drive around the city find some spot for a good dinner. Found a spot at local cafe. Paid RM 4.50 for a meal which include fried noodles with prawn toppings and cold ice coffee on micro crunched ice. A good time to relax before heading home, while sitting there idle took a sip of coffee while staring outside the glass looking at night stroller with my walkman plugin into my ears. What an adult life i have, wish i could be in my teenage years in college where i can enjoy most of my time playing with my buddies, hit the playstation, PC games or jump on the bike and do some crazy stunts behind hte forest. Ahhhh well, right now it all about time management and work you azzes for some stable income. Once i get back home it, turn on my pc, run my 3d tools and another world in me will light up. At night i have to finish up my models, legal overseas documents, settle foreign tax, sign here and there, check e-mail and do some texture models fix.

I don't MEOW you..zzzz...zzz...zzz

When ever i get back home from work every evening, i always walk around infront of the corridor to greet my cat to say hi.. anyways he took a glance, starring tiger like ego and then turn the other way around and continue its cat nap.
This is my cat...sort of... unlike other cats that i own throughout my life this one is much far different than any other cats. Very "passive". Doesn't even "MEOW" a sound, doesn't socialized with other cats, his best friend is a white stray dog beside the street, doesn't greet or atleast allow us to pat him, try to hide/shy away from us evertime we approach. This cats have long been residence in this house even before we move into our new house (which my family bought abandoned 15 years ago before we get to move in last year) originally occupied temporary by my mother's sister. According to my grandma this cat (we called him "Whyte" due to its Persian white color) was long abandoned by its mother while he was still infant and manage to struggle for living on its own untill adult. So you can see no living things taught this cat how to communicate/socialised with others. Anyways it does do helpful thing like scare off those rats/pesky rodents entering our homes. Despite its physical feature this is much of a rare breed, small tiger like body and face physic with blue eyes. Its really mind challenging to understand what "Whyte" wants since it just stare at you and doen't give any indication and "Meow" any signal. Everyday he just stare outside leanning againts the ceramic floor staring at the yellow/purple dusk sky waiting for something he was hoping or wish for. I guess it really tought me to appreciate life and people around you instead of being lonely and unsocialized. My family always welcome any cats into our house. Its been our long tradition to love cats.

TMNUT!!!

Well this is not the first time i encounter this problem, It happened yesterday when i get back home late evening. Turn on my PC as usual and click to connect to my internet broadband connection. .."Fail to connect".. So i click and connect again..and again... and again ...and again... Shizt! Its been 10 hours now!.. I called the TELEKOM for help service and so far it didn't help me out. Wonder if their cheap China made DSL modem problem or their typical annoyance ISP problem. Usually there alot of internet broadband services breakdown in MIRI city very frequently.... sometimes daily. If you want to know my ISP provide here some FAQ about them.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streamyx

Now here the real truth!:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TM_Net

Their serices is the most horrifying and hair pulling. Sometime it takes months to reply you a solution or hands on customer services. Worse they monopoly the telecomunication communication market. STUF services at 1MB/s! They claim the best in ASIA..wut an azz!! I've looses alot of important daily work over the internet cuz of that lazy people behind those comfy desk of blood/money sucking company. Almost all my salary spent on that TMNUT!

Red Morning.

This is the 4th time i wake up much late than my usual wakey time, 6.30am instead of original 5.30am. Not only that i wake up with headache and nosebleed. It didn't bleed realtime but it just reservoir in there when i wake up and spew it in the bath room. Dark reddish blood..ewww. It may be occcur when i was asleep in the midnight, that night felt very hot even with fan and ac turn on all night. I slept as early as 9.30pm a very good practice but ended up over slept. Maybe i shouldn't force myself to continue dreaming and stop hugging my comfy pillow.

Another day in the office.

Another busy day at MIS Dept (Management of Information System). Looks like my friend behind the desk at the programmer section concentrating very hard on their work. The girl way behind (in the picture) likes to eat ice cream while the dude beside her showing the finger is the NINTENDO hardcore fans defends that the new Wii console rocks. I'd say the new upcoming Nintendo Wii will be the next Sega Dreamcast doomsday. Check the Wii preview of its game, you'll notice their game title comes with standard 2 gen polygon.lol. I'm now saving my money for PS3.

Cheapo Hardisk to the rescue.

At last another hardisk for the month of June! This adds to hardisk number 8th that will be stack with another 7 mechanical block under my PC hood. Just now bought this hardisk from my office buddy for half price under 2nd hand status: 80GB HITACHI DESKSTAR, 7200 RPM ATA/IDE hardisk. Suitable to backup most vital work and material used for my modeling development. Storage backup have always been my highest priority ever since i was hit by data losses disaster few years ago....always reminds myself MAXTOR hdd sukz!.
Since early this year January till now my development file have double up to almost more than 80GB and expected to jump up to 140 by end of the year. Most of the files that tooks more space are Corel *.CPT texture files that usually takes max 540MB per files. One models usually have 34 sets of CPT files and each doesn't really fit into any typical CD or DVD disc. Not worth burning backups into DVD unless its a final products.

Time shift.

1st week of June, i received my usual salary, pay bills this and that and by night i stroll around the town relaxing myself at the coffee shop plus a huge meal of KFC. Ahh...alone since no one with me that day. After that went to some toy store around the mall for so called "looking for inspiration" for new models design. Along the way i grab some cold big cone of ice cream and sitting near by the waterfront to calm my mind. What a day...tired after whole day of work in the office because my superior ask me to go around the company and various department for software auditing while another part of my brain thinking what to do next by mid night since i have some on going project to settle. Btw i'm good at time management only just that my body have to tweak up the flexible time shift so i don't doze of at times needed. I get back home by 8.00pm took bath and quickly asleep on my bed. Today i'm trying to change my biological clock since i'm trying to cope with tonnes of work. Usually i sleep at between 11pm or 12am, but now change it to 9.00 and wake at 2am six hours later. This should give me enough time to workout my new models before morning work to the office. I woke at 12.30am, wow! that's way early and feel refresh. Its very silent and peacefull night, perfect time to workout my assignment...nice chocolate biscuit and hours of MP3 to keep me going till morning.

Cracked machine!

This is something that really makes my day even worst, everytime i want to see an output of my models inside the game it crashes, bluescreen, error 00X000, startup error, long beeps, blue screen... and blam ble bla bla, ....Check at bios for CPU tempreature its around 88 degree celcius at boot up.... wtf?!
I've opened my cpu case and checked the CPU placement. Problem detected: The clamp that holds the CPU heatsink to the holding plastic cups cracked! Yup the plastics base cup cracks causing the metal clamping disengage and the heatsink didn't seat firmly on CPU. So i use some steel wire to manually clamp the heatsink forcefully squishing the CPU until i get a new mobo clamping solution. GIGABYTE motherboard manufacturer and COOLERMASTER heatsink should improve the clamping gizmo in the future else i'm gonna put them in the Hall of Lame. Crap... waste my precious time fixing this fag!
