A-bike!

Saw this cool gadget few months ago at local bike shop but just recently after few convincing fact on youtube about A-BIKE i'm very dire to get one of these and put excitement between my feet. A-BIKE: portable, mniature, foldable, light and versatile bike for my daily commuting outside home. 5kg and fits inside back pack. This is my ultimate solution to my lazy walking days and ideal if i'm going all out for holidays on tour. To bad it was late to grab the last one on store. Wish i knew much earlier through internet. At least don't have to worry about leaving your bike outside unguarded since you can always bring out into the bus, train and into mall. Cool!

Spooked dream of prophercy

I had a dream just a day before my mountain bike race, i always told by my mom never to sleep in the afternoon especially during the yellow daylight. I took half day holiday off to fix my bike for tomorrow race. Its a promising prospect since i've train very much almost every month for that event. After 2 hours of tuning my bike i felt tired and doze off on my sofa at 3pm in sunny afternoon but hot weather. I was at deep trace into deep dreamy state where i realised dreamed that i was sleeping on that sofa too but a sudden misty figure made a light pounced on my back causing me to jolt like being hit by electric shock. Felt like being possed i glanced to my right ans saw a hand with no arm or body attach to carrying a women purse hovering away from me. Moments later i awake from my dream in verystunned state but my body felt like something trying to possed or control me from inside, i couldn't move, couldn;t open my mouth and pinned down by 'something'. I try to fight my way mentally and try to shake it off and lift my finger since i sleep with my face down the sofa coushin. I think about 10 seconds later i manage to break free and sit back upright on my sofa at the same time glance quickly all around my surroundings to see if anythings was amiss. I was glad it wasn't that serious but however this ordeal isn't the first. I was puzzled about the dream where the bodyless hand carry away a woman purse a way from me. I didn't know the message or sign behind it. The next day i lost the mountain bike race at 16th position where i missed my opportunity getting 3k's worth of cash prize.

My speed collection

Well i decided to show my land machine annual portrait. A new comer just entered into my life...the white road stallion..its a MERIDA. Now i got two buddies to fill my cheerful weekend and keep health and human performance top notch. My mountain bike already had enough dna upgrade and soon the road bikes will get her too soon. I'll try get some carbon goodies and stuff to keep it 7kg and below. I hope my body weight doesn't bog the machine down. I would probably get an ULTEGRA upgrade and CAMPAGNOLO wheels or a MAVICs but not until all the part got worn out under over use. I do hope i could do that by end of this year since my cycling intensity doubled each week. For the last 3 week road bikes seem to be the ultimate speed machine that keep my legs feels like bionic. Drop mine 3kg per week except when someones keep cooking some good food.

Bike in good hands

When it comes to professional bike maintenance and bike damage recovery theres only one man i look up to...its Mr. Syariff my very very old best mountain biking buddies whom weve been together riding for 15 years. All i can say his bike maintenance and fixing skills is second to none and can fix a dead bicycle out of nothing with minimal tools and resources. When he get it done its 100% the bike will be very much in fresh new condition and best top notch performance. It took him only a day to completely fix every corner of the bike to perfection which left me awe in amazement when i tried it late at night for a test drive. Wow! perform far better than a new bike! kudos! I'm proud to be his buddy.

Rough dry adventure

Its very dry and hazy today but it wouldn't stop us having fun in weekends. We're testing the new trails made by friend for upcoming races just nearby Miri public park. Lots of rough spot, spikey bushes, huge drop of downhills and climbing. I got this bad luck where my pedals hitting my swollen legs until the wound got bulging and errupt some goo, lol. I hope the new trails will be ready for races soon. I haven't been racing for more than a year since i've successfully secure 2nd place on last mountain bike race in Bakam motocross trails..

Ride me up and down.

I have pretty tight schedule on Sunday especially in the afternoon. By 1.30pm i've packed my gear, serviced my bikes and ready to hit the local forest for my favorite sports: Mountain Biking. Its been the best day today since the rain doesn't seems to hit that hard unlike 2 weeks ago. So i hitch a ride on my buddy 4 wheeler and off towards the Marudi by pass trails district in the middle of the forest. About more than 15 riders show up for the epic ride up and down the hills with all dirt and wet soil smudges on our face. The wind speed was moderate and no head on with resistance. I spent most of my ride looking around 360 on my surrounding watching nature and green tropical landscape which i don't usually enjoy much in the urban. It was relaxing moment where finally i can spent sometimes away from hustle bustle of the city. Coulds here looks very with and pure blue. My bike glide like a surfer on a big wave as i cruise up and down the hills with no much pain on the leg pedalling all the way up thanks to strategic combination of gearing system on my bike. Some still crank hand on the pedals with bad gearing combination giving huge burden to the muscle. Like always said ride smart not ride hard. Go fast and feel the windy breeze on my face. very cold as we get deeper and deeper the forest. As we move i see dirt rocky biege trails, land slide, oil palms, native houses, deep valleys, local people, bushes, trees and at the end of the ride the weather started to rain in little drizzle. By 7pm were all reached to the finishing point, pop up some cans of cold isotonic drinks and exchange few laugh and chat. We went home in the dark and ready for nice clean shower and dinner. Woooohoooo!!!! my days packed with extreme activity!.. I just love my life.

Hello! Rock Shox Revelation.

After serving for 3 year finally i sold my old 130mm MANITOU MINUTE due to inefficient performance and trade with latest new front shox for my mountain bike with all new damping and suspension adjustment technology. The "ROCK SHOX REVELATION", 130mm travel, U-TURN suspension tuning. bigger stachion legs, lightweight and smooth rebound compression really make my ride a more smoother and less bumpy ride. I've tried riding it around the places down the stairs, up the hills, high speed downhills, some jumps and rough bashing, The forks works superbly well and handle like pros. All i have to do and sit down and no need to worry about standing up when encounter big butts. It really save my butt. Also made me a mood for some ride.

Adventure under blue twilight moon.

I didn't expect to happen to be the most hard core ride every which left me cold as dead due to excessive exhaustion. But anyways it was an experience worth jumping into it.

That morning all our mountain biker buddy gather around the cafe table behind the bike shop to plan for our bike trip for this noon. I order some beef noodles, a few cans of coke drinks in the morning and plates of heavy salad chiken rices to fuel up for later ride. So we decided to venture into lonely trails at Marudi cross over jungle trails.

By 3.30pm we reached there and start riding at normal pace. Not much of fast rider around because the hot legs left exhausted at home due to last Saturday lag of competition so not much or rivalry race throughout the journey. By 4.30pm we already deep deep into the jungle already passed the oil palm plantation district. We came across hilly trails and the off-road path become much narrower and more steep as further we go in but expect a loop trails going out exit back to our finishing point by few kilo distance. 5.30pm its getting dark so we choose the nearest trails to exit the open forest and into the path where we begin the most terrifiying up and down the hill ride. We began to decent up and down at high speed hitting lot of dangerous bumps holes and deep ravine. We haven't finished 40% of the trails and one of the rider accidently hit the huge gap of pot holes down the hil and tumble 180 degree fly shoulder first hit a near by boulder beside the hardpacked soild and fracture his shoulder bone wit two bone twigs pike out buldging the skins. The accident happens few centimetre away from me as i'm just right behind him. Luck him i manage to grab his bike which flown direct infront of me quickly grabbed and avoid his bike from pounced againt him. Everyone stopped and helped him to assist medical aid. Being way deep inside the jungle with limited access via normal transportation to reach the injured and the days getting dark we were lucky enough to have a cellphone signal coverage still roaming high and manage to turn our mobile phone to contact several near by rider who are closest to the finishing point to grab a 4 wheeler and drive to the emergency spot. Its 6.pm, days getting darker, several rider have to depart from the location leaving several riders behind to accompany the injured till the 4 wheeler arrive to pick them up but it will take few hours to reached there.
I'd expect it going to be short duration to reach the finishing point making assumption were just going to pass 3 to 4 steep off-road hills in just 1 hours at fast pace. But we were wrong. Heck it was more bizzare ride then ever, after passing several long steep hill climb then going down, the up, down up , down the hill i felt this journey getting endless as if the forest cursing us leading to bogey path, i also spot one of the Miri most highest hill climb ever...seeing the hill stertching way up like 200 storey high was like "holy crap!!! my legs going to explode!"". But nothing much we can do but to continue ride all the way up to exist the hellish forest...using the smallest high torque gear we paced like snail climbing up the hill. I hardly see the path as the sun already sunked behind the horizon...all is blue gloomy light lit well by bright moon and stars. My body was very very cold and stomach getting pretty empty. The sweat getting lest at the muscle almost at cramp level a sign that i'm all 100% heavily exhausted, critically low energey level, food and water. Event we just reached the peak of the hill i can see over the top horizon we have to passed at least 7 more hills climbs to exit to the main dirt road were it exited out from the oil plantation district. Guided by instict and gloomy blue rays of light shines the murky white path i speed though the trails cautionly avoiding the side which i couldn't figure out if its a bush or drak deep ravine. I was behind a guy named William but when i look back behind me there no one follow us except we were both on our own reaching to the finishing point. Others probably left behind clueless or slow down due exhaustion.
i felt time went stand still as we haven't exited the path yet. It was soo dark but the trails still can be seen through naked eyes except i can't differentiate between holes, huge rocks bumps or even huge crack of holes in the middle of the path so i just push my luck speeding down and just follow the guy infront hoping he don't get and bad accident else we;re the one ended stranded in the dark forest.
As we got the feeling geting nearer to the finishing point the sky was getting very clearer, the moon and the star are much brighter like white blue illuminating like diamond something you rarely seen from the city except at country side. Firefly start to blinks its bright lite body like spark of fire or christmas light bulb blinking around the forest flying gently like faries of the forest. Even though i'm tired but i was happy to experience those beautiful sights not many city slickers going to watch it once in a blue moon. Wow!
Few minutes later we reached a huge path that looks like rough open roads judging from the gloomy bright color of the soil under the night sky. Ah! we've reached the main truck road that leads to the exit point. At ETA 35 minutes through long flat and going all the way down the rocky road cautionly we reached our destination as we manage to see bright lights at near by car park just beside the hut. Home!! We reached there and shocked to see its just around 5 people including us hit the finishing spot while it'll take another hours to wait a dozen rider to return in the dark nights. Anyways after long wait everyone gathered completely at almost 8pm greeted with nice cold sweet isotonic drinks to comfort our tired body. Well not everyone in a good shape, another guy just also caught in accident under the dark night as he feel from his bike on the bridge and rip his buttock flesh out...eeeewwww...not going to tell much about it but that's one heck of a Sunday ride.
When i reached home, i took bath, grab my sedan car keys and drive all the way to KFC restaurant and much aways huge packs of dinner plate size fried chicken to flush out my frustration and hunger after the activity drain off my energy, Yaahhhhh, what a meal!
