Search for the Waterfall

Today were mountain biking way up on west side of the coastal forest searching for location known to have waterfall and cool place to dip in the water. Our search begins at 3.00pm and ended by 7.00pm. Were in SIBUTI division populated with minority local native live in the village deep in the forest which took 10 minutes drive from the coastal beach up north on normal car. The route into the forest was very bumpy, rocky and sometimes muddy when we get back home.
We've been through deep into the forest thick bushes, into villages, up hill and down hills scanning for possible path that leads to the mysterious waterfall which one of our buddies did encounter those beautiful places 3 years ago but can't recall the exact location. Maybe those trails lead to the waterfall have been well covered with thick plants and denses forest for too longs which erase clues to where its about. The weather today was very fine and yet hot. Not much rider turned up for this Sunday rides because they have their own agenda to attend to. So all whats left are 10 riders including one tough female rider. We spent hours into the jungle ram through bushes, jump over the river, crash into the ravine, fall into unexpected pits, doing steep downhills, cut branches and olds broken trees to bypass the are but still we haven't got any hints and spot the waterfall location. Some of us even took five just to fix up punctured tires and had a rest for some drinks. On some part of the trails especially up the hills my rear gearing system didn't shift properly to proper gearing position, it jammed and i had to manually dig the chain out and re-adjust the shifting mechanism. I notice the mechanical fault due to worn out cogs and weak retension spring which indicates its time to change to new gearing system. Looks like i have to fork out few thousand dollars to haul up some good parts (SHIMANO XTR) on the bike because overall i haven't completely change the parts on my bike. Some as old as 5 years which need heavy maintenance due to extensive worn out performance. I'll get it done next week. yeah! Ok so we couldn't find any waterfall at all, we passed as many as 12 villages and forests and also countless of hills. 6.30pm is getting dark so we exited the forest and head back home to finishing point. We sprint to the finish line, i got the first position! Was the ride worthy for today? Yup, worthy! We manage to climb the highest hills high above the sea level and enjoy the lovely view above the forest which we can see the sea over there and tooks some great picture of us riding on top of the hills. Cool!
