Rough dry adventure

Its very dry and hazy today but it wouldn't stop us having fun in weekends. We're testing the new trails made by friend for upcoming races just nearby Miri public park. Lots of rough spot, spikey bushes, huge drop of downhills and climbing. I got this bad luck where my pedals hitting my swollen legs until the wound got bulging and errupt some goo, lol. I hope the new trails will be ready for races soon. I haven't been racing for more than a year since i've successfully secure 2nd place on last mountain bike race in Bakam motocross trails..

The almighty small 4WD dirt monster.

Once again......Its small but pack all the lastest technology equivalent to hi tech computer and machinery. Can't believe its costs a bang to let it run wild on the dirt track. 2.4Ghz spektrum module, high kv brushless motor technology, programmable computer tuned ESC with software modification and upgrade, 4 channel computerised remote control, high dischare rate lithium polymer pack, precision mechanical parts and lots more... and can fit inside a shoe box. This time its even better!!

The rain doesn't stop us.

Was raining heavily last night, weather forecast on tv says its going to be a wet seasons and heavy flooding on certain part of the country. Will be like weeks. But for us nothing stop us from enjoying our gathering. We went over to near by inddor venue. Yup, we found it and enough space to drift around. We really enjoy our nights.

Youtube: 1/10 vs 1/18 race.

Another wonderfull evening to waste my time before heading home from work. Not much people around only me and my radio control companion Eru on the track enjoying racing among ourself. Sorry for the lousy youtube quality. Looks like the video conversion looks a bit crappy after transfer to youtube.
Anyways here'a a video clip of Eru and me runing around the car park circuit. I put my video cam on ERU 1/10 car and infront is me (the green yellow car). ERU on EZRUN brushless system while i'm on CASTLE CREATION: SIDEWINDER MICRO brusless system. Both on very power saving mode which is a bit slower setting but good enough to race since we need to save up the battery. Here's the recorded on board cam video.

God bless our happy evening.

Thank goodnesss no rain happened in that particular area, it does rain heavily a few kilometers away from the office but not at our racing circuit, maybe god bless us with luck and protect us from unlucky disaster...well it is raining seasons. Its just partially wet and we almost drift all the way. Not many people turn up for the race only me and Aki since the rain just drizzle around some unluck area. Another happy evening. Got me 3 packs of battery to last me almost 2 hours of play. It was nice evening with bring orange sunset. Really enjoy the scene and felt relaxed after being stuck in the office for hours.

Going into mini off-road with DIY models.

After extensive research, budget calculation and weighting the fun factor consideration parts durability and parts availability i decided to pick up some cheap base chassis from local toy store an Auldey mini bigfoot and dig out RM800 worth of professional R/C parts from my Kyosho MINI-Z MR01 mini servo, KYOSHO MR02 electronic micro PCB board, SP8M4 5x stacks custom FET, ATOMIC-RACING gear, PN-RACING ball bearings, HL controller, HPI AM radio crystal and TAMIYA ULTRA DASH hot motor into the mini monster chassis. Took me full 8 hours to work on the conversion. The results is amazingly high torque off-roader suitable from rough off-roading and rock climbing. Its huge clearance below the chasis and long stock and flexible suspension enables this mini off-roader to soften and harsh impact come from various direction and the encase gearing system assure that the inner gear parts would last longer than having to replace often like my 1/28 KYOSHO MINI-Z. Plus comparison to my NRX-18 1/18 touring it does need much space and can crawl and speed almost any terrains including long grasses. The fun factor is also huge with longer run times due to light and high torque type gear which is friendly to the motor and also the cheap chassis could hold 4x AA 2700mah GP batteries. This is my worth DIY (Do It Yourself) professional hobby class mini monster R/C models. I love it. I guess i dun have to worry about broken parts anymore. Happy!
