Someday i'm lucky some day am not, but sometimes its best to crash once a while on two wheels and last few days ago i have my faceplant after drop down the steep edge of the trails. Wasn't that bad since i get used to it all the time but when i got up it made me wanted to go over the edge again since it was like "what? that's it?" For me every crashes is a step by step path to enlighten my karma, an added ingredients to my adrenaline junkie. Feels like a real man when you had one or more. Life is a bummer when you're like "no pain no gain" thing. So...Adrenaline kicking, ride fast, jumps, crashes, gets up, a smile in the face, thumbs up and lets do it again. Is life an awesome adventure!

Life is just awesome!...going everyday on two wheels.
After years commuting on bicycles to work finally i think life was too perfect for me. Feel younger, active and just kill 3 or more birds with one stone. Life is very lively. I loose massive weight, my long pants getting extremely loose..very loose!, have time to enjoy radio control hobby/activity in between, save fuel and money, save traffic headache, save time because i can slip through traffic, had a good sleeping time, wake up late but stay fresh, have time to eat proper home made breakfast and my health is improving plus getting strong leg muscles. Wow! all these because i'm skipping from drving my car to work and getting on my bicycle...this is so awesome! Other than that it seems my often presence on local road have become part of familiar appearance among traffic user which is good for me so that they aware that i'm using the same road everyday too. When the weather is all good with blue sky and white clouds its nice to tour around and enjoy the scenery..just plugin into my MP3 SONY WALKMAN and there goes enjoyment. Sunset always been so beautiful along the coastal area as i'm riding on my way home. Sometimes if i get hungry i have lots of mobilty opportunity to wonder through several burger stalls, cafes and food stores without worry about parking space problem. I can also go about wondering my own business without worry time and fuel.

A change for tour de walk
I wonder what so doubtful and insane about walking back and fro from work place on foot when the distance is "just" 10.7KM (Oh btw my previous best record on foor was 68KM hiking around Kuching country side per-day). My co-worker and friends was disbelief except for my closest friends wasn't all surprise since it normal for me to do throughout my entire life. "Just" means its a small matter for me since i been through worst than that. It was because that day someone accidentally locked the room which store my bike so i ended up walking back home walking such distance over crowded urban, hills and corridor of unsecure street till sunset. No big deal. Yesterday took me 1 and half hour to reach home with handful of rock pebbles for security against raging street dogs. First option i always have a sedan car to drive easily but i think it consume too much budget on fuel per-month and hassle to park around, so i save some road rage a decided to go second option that is my trusty road bike which already bought long time ago for commuting purposes which took only ETA 20 mins to arrive. The third is walking. Why walk? Because i felt it will be more adventurous, thrills, healthy, building up my manly sets of leg muscles and skills plus nothing more relaxing than walking on the under the beautiful orange sunset sky and cool breeze from the sea...you don't get much feeling when you're driving under the roof. That night i felt good, easily fell asleep after dinner then again the next morning i felt extra set of walking muscle began to emerge. 10.7 digits seems small for me but looking through Google Map visually it looks pretty scary when i see the distance i've covered no to mention after i surveyed the distance on other places that i've been doing it the same. At the end i smiled and manage to keep the 20 years of recordes and achievement for not using public Buses nor Taxi for similar intention. Walking rocks.

Another broken sunday!
Never felt so bad having my Sunday a major drag with pocket to burn later. Ride in the middle of the jungle miles away from civilization and 'bam!' i got permanently broken drive terrains my mountain bike in the middle of no where. Let see...that was USD$210 shitty Shimano XTR parts gone down the pit this month, rear derailuer, frame drop-out hinges and chains going goodbye. With almost storm coming in on windy evening i cut the chain short to fit the whole gear into single speed setup so i could continue pedal and a whizz my way miles to the pit stop and drove back home in agony. Why agony because i expect to spend my budget for computer hardware for my 3D work...mmmmm NVIDIA..... Should have followed my instinct not to ride my MTB yesterday. On the bright side though i still have my road bike to keep my legs alive this week....i really hate lycra tights.

A-bike!

Saw this cool gadget few months ago at local bike shop but just recently after few convincing fact on youtube about A-BIKE i'm very dire to get one of these and put excitement between my feet. A-BIKE: portable, mniature, foldable, light and versatile bike for my daily commuting outside home. 5kg and fits inside back pack. This is my ultimate solution to my lazy walking days and ideal if i'm going all out for holidays on tour. To bad it was late to grab the last one on store. Wish i knew much earlier through internet. At least don't have to worry about leaving your bike outside unguarded since you can always bring out into the bus, train and into mall. Cool!

I like it hot and windy
Ah! Just the right day to ride my mountain bike on hot and windy afternoon. The sky is clear blue, cotton clouds, dry trails and life full of nature's energy around me. I keep my pace slow and steady climbing up the hills, not in rush like i used too. As i got aged i don't think i'm willing to put too much competitive speed on the trails like racing around up and down with other riders but to ride as nature tourist sight seeing wonders of nature. Lot of alltitiude ride today as we go high above the sea level overlook carpets of forest canopy. The sea looks glowing gold and the grass just like in the Praire hills as it waved by the winds. I wish this hilly trails was my backyard and months of holidays on my calendar so i could spent most of my happy life more meaning full on earth. After years of riding my dependance on living in urban concrete seems to fade and the trump card within in pull me back to mother nature where human used to dwell as habitat. But that doesn't mean being i can't integrate myself with modern world. Thankfully we still got internet connectivity and portable everyday technology behind our bag to keep us updated everywhere we go.

My white road stallion
A month later i fell in love on my new found friend, she's fast and very elegant looking. Been riding mountain bike for 15 years now, its time to shift the pace to step my other foot fully on-road to utilized the advantage of speed and higer pedalling candence. So its time to get the ultimate road rage machine. Yes few weeks ago this white stallion took my heart away. A road bike with intermediate level groupsets, carbon fork and some "just enough" performance parts gave me wings on the road. I got totally hooked with this bike on its first day of flight pushing me extra 40% speed advantage over mountain bike plus its easy on the pedal too. The shifting and braking was a bit very awkward for me since my hand kinda twisty over the goatee handle bar since the finger muscle already adapt much for mountain bikes, so i have to get use to the pain reaching the foward vertical position brake lever and shifter. My mountain biking apparel also isn't suitable and ergonomics enough for road biking since all those compact posture and sitting position risk getting blister and drag so i have to dig in robin hood men in tights which is so un-MX like. 4 weeks later i've become the fastest man on the road. Constant 32km/h, 47km/h on sprinting, 65km/h on drafting and top speed at 95km/h when chasing behind huge drafter. Now i got two mad machines. I love it!

Journey through the plains
I'm glad its not raining today which save me some potential wash work on my garbs and equipment cuz it was a little drizzle early in the morning. However today weather is super blue and hot. Surprisingly today is very much easier and gentle ride, slow and steady just enough time to turn my heads around watching around the scenery as we pass by several villages, forest and great plains of bushes towards the horizon. "Taking easy" during the ride was a good mode to enjoy my sunday unlike previously where we have to compete each other who's the fastest. Today journey is very much slow and breath taking adventure, my mind very cleared and refresh after taking a nice view over big green scenery around me.

Food fest: Night burger
Under the twinkling twilight of night life in the city we enjoy our meal with some nice BBQ taste hamburger...plus another that makes 2x. Its great to be out again for cycling out under the sunset till night. We get to experience night life along the city edge.

Food fest: Fish rolls
After riding beyond 75km milage for today we reward ourself with yummy treats at local steak house. Heavy but essential to replace our burned calories and recovered our dire tired muscles. We have not yet encounter such "fatty phobia" yet. With our current activity what comes in burns out so nothing left being fatty except our butt.

Windy upper land
Our Sunday ride went very easy, not much of a challenge. Just going up the hill and enjoy the beautiful view below us; fields of plantation and dense forest on our south side. The wind kind of cool and breezy too at 4pm.

Local ice yummies!
We called it our local SPECIAL, some may refer as ABC ice "Air Besi". Anyways this is my favorite "cool off" iced food after long hard ride under the sun. We've been cycling more than 75km under the hot sun today and i'm the first to reach the food stall for 3 rounds of iced SPECIALS. Inside are some milked cream ice, some jellies, corn, beans, syrup and lychees.

Smacked!
Check it out, a fly got smacked to its death upon high speed collision fly vs my mountain bike with its back wing smacked below my crank. It must have been i've cycling beyond 85km/h and the fly got head-on on the road. RIP little bro. That was not the first time. There used to be some bugs, grasshopper, and some unfortunate little creature that is crossing my path ended become goo on my bike.

Sunset horizon
Sunday return! hot and dry... i love it...at least save me some cleaning task. Throught the day the scenery been all golden yellow sunlight as we travel in and out of dry barren forest. Thanks goodness i've been more prepared for long rides by sleeping more than 12 hours to keep my body feel refresh and energized. My bike performed superb excellent after been well serviced and maintained by my 1st class bike mechanic. Grass lands, dusty trails , hills and valleys, cold drinks and adrenaline speed junks are what my Sunday is all about that outs me a big grin in my smiles.
