Back to drift mode.

Ok, so looks like i'm back again into touring cars. At first i was thinking permanently swanted to stick to mini off-roader the mini truck. Then after long thoughts weighting between keeping either mini monster truck and 1/18 NRX-18 i decided to shift all the parts back to its original place on touring cars that is the old 4wd NRX-18. Its was a 3 hours setup to move the electronic parts from truck to touring car. Castle Creation: SIDEWINDER MICRO ESC, 4200KV brushless motor, HL AM receiver box, TOWER PRO 9G micro servo, gears and connector swapped place. Thankfully i got my old battery back plus its comes with 2x 1000mah 6V battery with 400mah charger from old forumer buddy under barter trade method with some of my R/C stuff. Was a good deal. Now with CIVIC TYPE-R chassis the urge to get out and bash rival player spark the flame. Time to drift.
What happened to my mini monster ? Welll, only time will decided. Surely it will resurrected in few days with more powerful configuration and spec.

Saturday night drift again

At noon was well prepared with all my r/c models, well tuned KYOSHO MINI-Z and NRX-18 already upgraded with new 370 racing motor with custom 7.2V 2700mah enough torque power to drift along the circuit. At local hobby shop people swarming around to get parts and stuff for tonight event. By night at 10.45pm everyone at the drift circuit. I also met our local forumer who also seem to be in the same interest on 1/18 scale r/c tag along for the run. My first run was sprint duel again another brushless NRX-18 player but i'm using my 1/28 Kyosho Mini-z againts him. Was fast and extreme drag duelling especially i'm up again larger size brushless. After 1 hour 30min run time he won't by 1 second difference ahead of me. After drain sets of 4.8V 1000mah battery on my mini-z i pulled out my NRX-18 1/18 to join the other drifter on the track. With new 370 motor the car was powerfull enough to pull a huge side slide drifting partially around the circuit but dampens by soft compund tyre and short lived 15min battery. So i pulled another custom 7.2V 2700mah battery power and slot into my 1/18. I pulled the trigger 100% throttle thecar stutter and halt, ESC beakons an emergency overheat sound. I tried several attempts but still the ESC beacons emergency sound which inform me that big troubles is coming to wreck my day. Unable to troubleshoot the problem at night so i decided to halt for the day and went home with other at 12.38am at midnight. At home i made several test and found out i've fried a speed controller chip which suppose to handle more current. After long toughts i decided to get new ESC parts and motor to cope with the demanding problem.

Saturday Drift night fever

I'm very happy last Sturday night when me and my radio contol buddy when out for our radio control gathering night infront of old "Everise" supermarket where there's a big carpark for drifter and drag racing took place among ourself. I brought out 2x unit of sprinter MINI-Z and NRX-18 for drift. I spent 90% of the time drag racing/sprint againts others racer which at the ended ended tied. Was a funny competition for my 1/28 touring scale MINI-Z versus SAMCO 1/18 touring 4WD. The guy got LIPO in his ride but lucky he got steering servo which results in swirl before reaching the finish line. Crowds are overwhelmed and welcome the duel race...it was fun. The the last 30 minutes my mini bashed against the road devided trashed the servo knuckle sending me reset to pit-stop for servicing. The rest of the time surplus spent watching and cheering my buddy doing drift race around the DIY made circuit. We spent out our time from 10.00pm till 1.00am midnight. Then we spent break time at local coffee shop beside the road for refreshment and chatting till 2.00am. I'll return again for another drag racing duel. Yeah!!

Time for MINI-Z Radio Control

Check this out, my old hobby have returned! Originally before i'm into 3d design and modelling 10 years ago i was more on Radio Control car/truck 4wd and miniature scale platic models on car like KYOSHO, TAMIYA and REVELL. Yesterday i put some effort to revive back my remote speed freak in me. In this new age of electronics R/C cars comes in miniature size! I have my own MINI-Z on I-WAVE radio servos kit. All stock in setup and parts. I decided to shift my bike budget to R/C car upgrade next month planning to upgrade rechargeable batteries, suspension tune up and rear electric motors upgrade to pump up speed up to 80KM/H performance. Yes! no kidding 80KM/H! Its was pretty expensive just to buy R/C MINI-Z..cool thing is the i-WAVE controller have digital computer display which store 10 models memory and digital trimming feature just like it big brother SANWA and FUTABA radios. MINI-Z looks uniquely small! Almost the size of my nokia handphone with compact parts and quality driving experience on my palm. The best part is that i could easily mod it using existing smaller scale models and electronic parts from TAMIYA mini 4wd, AULDEY's, KYOSHO's or anything i can find in the market. I hope i could mod it to max head turning performance. Imagine this palm size car hit 80KM/H!!! Believe me you should wiki on this fact...read it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mini-Z
Btw for me its a good investment, as a 3d design and modeler for car, trucks, 4wd and etc i should have this as object of inspiration everthing i want to look for ideas. Can believe this car also drift. Go check out some people did it in YouTube!

Hopefully early month of March i'll put up some daily report about MINI-Z modification and how it was moded step by step to achive max speed output and show some public what this little speedster can do.
