Notebook lesson

Nowadays most most manufacture especially from branded ones prefer cheap operating cost to manufacture notebook with mass quantity. Compaq, Dell and etc are one of the corporates.  Just look at my lappy above i have to dismantel every month to resolder back the chip on the board due to overheating which its model are known for faulty engineering having defected soldering on Nvidia chip that was installed by their contractor. However their recall only made 5 years after but at limited replacement.   Can't trust any lappy these days.  Research over google every 10 lappy there are 7 bound to malfunction.  Computer makers are very cheap skates recently. Consumer beware!

Dangerous limit

Just recently i have to start my computer like an old car ignition, start..stall, start..stall, start..stall, start..stall, start..stuck at login, start..Ble Screen of Death error on desktop...but if i'm lucky after 8th try i manage to login to my computer. At random times it slows showing pop-up "insufficient memory" event tough i have 7GB worth of temporary swaps space on my HD. My computer which is the main work station for all 3d creation is counting ticking towards the edge of the cliff. However i tried to squeeze as much juices from my computer to produce few output of 3d projects and design before its times comes. The computer now worth nthing in the market since most of its hardware are very much legacy as equal as the technology of yesterday abacus. I have the mentality not to invest very much on computer products even i'm very much rely on it. You buy today and tomorrow worth a piece of rotten wooden plank.

The computer going to die soon!

Uhh oohh!! Looks like my trustee work station pc life going to end very soon. This 8 Year old computer (the oldest and the most powerfull 2002 spec PC) is going to puke some blood out. The screen now is showing artifact lines on the screen signaling either GPU error, bad ram, bad boot or something else. This computer give birth to many of successful designs and work related to my hobby as well as my life goal. This pc is half dead, dead SATA, dead PCI, dead bridge chip and its life hanging on a string. Been runing hard for 8 years seems to be worth investment. The PC did went under several CPR to revive after several hardware failure. I like to squeeze out as much performance and work time from this computer before its lifespan worn out.

Week 5..no z-modeler

After long break i still not in the mood to stick my butt infront of the computer and whizz my mouse around on z-modeler 3d tools. Something tells me i should take more rest enjoying myself with other stuff first until some sparks of ideas get me going back again. Anyways everyday been busy around doing some designs, graphics, sites and some custom model building for clients. I wish there were at least 48 hours per day, 12 working hours, 2 hour for meal, 9 hours sleep and the rest will be my design hobby. Hmmmm.... put that on my afterlife wish list.

LRP SHARK aka ANDERSON MB4

Been runing this little critters for a month now after i sold off all my touring cars including parts and tools because this new ones are better both off-road an on-road. Small, portable, computerised high tech, jaw dropping power and speed not even any of our local real size supercar can catch up with it. Have both world latest technology and world most dangerous explosive power under the hood. Having going through several models throughout my secondary hobby lifespan i found this one an ideal racer both on-road and handling.

Specification:
-------------------------------
model: LRP SHARK 18/ANDERSON MB4
transmission: 4WD with 4 spider diff system
radio rx: Sanwa 2.4Ghz with fail safe
esc: Castle Creation - SIDE WINDER MICRO bushless ESC (upgraded software revision 1.17)
motor: Castle Creation CM2040 - 4200kv
Servo: HITEC Digital MG
power pack: GE-POWER 7.2v 25c Lithium Polymer
suspension: Oil shocks
------------------------------

What can i say, this is the most perfect rc model i ever own, everything custom built inside according to my driving style. The speed, power and computerised tuning is the most drooling factor to own one. Infact was a great machine to race against my rival on the race track...soon.

Slow-mo blogger

With so much to do and interesting activity to attend everyday it seems that i almost have no time to spent blogging on my computer. Recently i don't hook much on computers except checking mails, forum and reading news and that's it. Not much to doings of 3d design work since my computer all crappy and randomly hang up on me everytime i designing things on heavy graphics. So i hang out more on quality time with outdoor activity with my friends outside either riding my bikes or r/c racing. Pretty much i enjoyed a lot being outside rather than being at home infront of computer or watching tv. It really help me increase appetite eating any food on the table since outdoor really burns lots of energy which actually keeps my body in good shape. No worries on fatty food. Also i've keep me away from my busy and rushy work n my 3d design project. I'm saved from annoying fans in my mails. Thats good news yeah.

Recovery plan - saving critical work

Things going bad for my old computer starting last December. Unstable motherboard, frequent hardisk crash and overheated graphic card. Worse thing doesnt goes well when hardisk failed to but which suspected having bad sector on boot table. So quickly i have to make few backup copies of my work into new storage and everthing have to go into safe procedure before my computer messed up. XAVAGE model design was highly affected by these issue but thankfully my project are safe tuck away from cippled computer system. Few copies of backup available on remote server all over the net to make sure no disaster happen if my computer went bad to worse.

Going high tech on Mini's

Looks like my "Do it yourself" custom radio control models going further hightech beyond ordinary toys. My final parts to complete a line of hightech R/C collection have reached its peak. Got me a programmable ESC kit which i can hook my custom made mini r/c via USB programming card connector then link it to the computer where i can easily tune the performance of my car models. This is so cool. No more programming through sound beeping anymore.

GPU R.I.P my friend.

Well looks like all my PC at home over worked especially the GPU cards.
-GEFORCE 7600 GS (overheated and died due extensive heavy poly rendering on development models)
-VANTA LT (one of the resistor burned out casing the AGP slots unable to control the current supply to GPU)
Both replace with this new AGP cards to revive old but worth working and investment.
-ATI X1550 PRO
-GEFORCE FX5500
yeah, yeah i know they both have cheap performance but as long it does the job they are worth running. Heck save money than buying new PC.
Btw the old GEFORCE 7600 GS worth the living before it died since it already worked lots of project and stuff interm of Return Of Investment (ROI).
Below are the page links show differences between and old gpu with replacement ones:
http://www.gpureview.com/show_cards.php?card1=434&card2=501
It looks like i loose a few millions of render performance by a seconds but heck its a value card nearest to 7600GS with same memory bandwith and advantage of +50Mhz extra core clock.
Well atleast i can run my PC and view stuff on internet via my monitor,

Day 7, oh yeah! no computer for next few weeks.

Ok so i broke my ultimate pricey work station computer (my source of partime income station), all i have is my sister's computer to access the internet.... But thank god i manage to complete all my 3d models and design published into the internet/ my websites before it went kaapooofff!!. It would take some $$$ to fix it but well i think it was fated to be that way or must be a hidden message sent by unknown Force that wanted to say " go out and discover the world!!". And so since last week i started to go out adventuring myself on my Mountain bike, into the urban jungle and real jungle, Radio control activity, phtoto shooting, play with my PSP and hanging out with my buddies for a good drinks and stuff. Yeah last weeks lots of worthy activity. It makes PC days looks evil now but i guess the so called "The Force" was saving me away from computer for holiday break. I hope it can help me to recover some loss so i can get back to my PC for another 3d design and model projetc when i really on it. Peace.

I've fried my PC!!!

OMG!! the overheat kills it, whole GPU, display card memory and bridge chipset are totalled. There's goes my work on 3d models and track project. All delayed by clogged dust which blocked the fan from cooling of the heat sink. Its all about $$$ getting it fix. Maybe i just lay back, sit back and relax...should jump on my bike and play my r/c models to get over it until i get my budget for new work station computer for 3d model work. Ahhh...dammit.

Oh well i have nothing to lose because the investment on these hardware was worth it since the return of investment was big enough before it break down. With total of 17 3d models for games have been created, 7 graphic project and 40 publishing thats really a lot done by this PC. I'll try to get it fixed even though it uses old AGP slot which very hard to find. Wish me luck.

Programmer's happiness in discovery

Life as a web application programmer is fun because you built something into workable product...a product i say from your own ideas,....well it depends how you run your department. There are times when thing going up and down. Its has this extreme moody thing when you do programming stuff. Like today is my happy day because i manage to solve a blockade problem which already keep me into dead stop for 12 weeks and my brain painfully thinking how to by pass such complex problem, for example having to synchronize UNIX EPOCH timestamp into standardizedSQL code and make it run smoothly throught the coding without any bug inside my web application. For me such a small discovery does make difference between happiness and gloomy days, Yes, i'm happy today! my programming task finally runs like a train, no more blockade of problem...at least have something to show to my boss that there's a progress. Yes, that's programmer life. Happiness cames when ideas pop-up and solution to the problem finally comes to the rescue. Being programmer also make me hungry because our brain keeps active more frequent that any parts of the body and burns more energy/calories. So dun be surprise if you see programmer gain lots of weight. That is because they are doing lot of thinking.
Ok, tomorrow is another happy day for me, i hope i don't encounter weird coding and made me jump into stop junction.

My PC Cooked!?

I was shocked in the morning when i notice my PC suddenly died after few minutes of runing early wee in the morning. Start....stop...start..stop...start..stop.. what?! I checked the 550 watt power supply, display card, cords, cables, fans, motherboards and etc... nothing suspcious of getting any short circuits. Today suppose to upload SDK package but interrupted by broken PC.

The next afternoon after work hours i went home, pull my PC out in the open and clean off some dirty dusty particle that clogged all those vents, heatsink and fans which might probably contribute to extreme overheat and cause fail safe activity on the power module. After disassemble my pc parts there were tonnes of dust clogged my pc parts to the max at bottle neck level. The dust way too thick for COOLER MASTER fan to handle. So i did some quick dusting the interrior and make sure everthing is clean.

5 hours later its was the PC tested and runs well!... the time was 1.30 in the morning...too late! i have to load the SDK package into my website tomorrow ...zzz...zzz
