Happy Chinese New Year!

Happy Chinese New Year! Early in the morning we go to church for proper festive blessing for the day and when we get back to grandma house its already full of friends, relative and villages neighbours. Unlike our urban style celebration here in this remote village people from various cultures, races, religion and beliefs come to celebrate as one share our celebration, happiness and enjoyment for this Chinese New Year festival. Don't be suprise both my father and mother relative have huge mixture of cultures, races, religion and beliefs that make other felt the gap of different is huge as seen from their eyes but in our heart they are actually very close as family. I also have chances to visit other relative around Limbang too. The crowds come in and out in endless from 8am till 4pm. Cakes, muffin, snacks, rice, noodles, bbq chicken, meat, veges, shirmps, cola, oranges, beers and etc all on the tables. I always hang around the kitchen too see if i can get some nice munchies and some cooking in progress. Wow! the make fried shrimps!!

Munchies for Christmas.
Ah! My stomach really gotten me full to the brim. On Christmas eve we had big feast in our house with family and close relative gather around to celebrate our joyous dinner. Server with roasted beef, bbq chicken, fried stuff, cakes, wines and all the goodies sure to keep me warm all night. The next day on 25th December after church our house filled with relative and friends drop by for Christmas celebration. The morning always full of nice cuisines such as Satay beef and chicken, fried rice and noodles, cakes, puddings, candies, curry dishes, seafoods and lots of nice goodies to keep me hang around the kitchen to take a bite to the fullest all day till midnight. By the time i get myself in bed to sleep i felt kinda hot, humid and skins get sticky...i think i ate way over the top, could feel those oily sweat squirt out from my skin, talk about fat food and sugar. lol

Early for Christmas
Everyone kinda busy for Christmas. Young ones get excited, quickly got the Christmas tree up weeks early before eve. However this new era Christmas celebration wasn’t as merry as it was before in the mid 1980’s. We usually have our Chrismas at our grandparents home, relatives and family as whole group together and our Christmas part would run 24 hours for a weeks with endless of friends and relative coming to our grandparents in country side. I can even hear them dancing, singing, sounds of clanking mug and old man chatting in and outside the house. Cakes, drinks, muffin and goodies still abundant in stocks. I would always linger around the kitchen for a few nips. Granny always keep baking more cakes and nice family recipe munchies.
Later between 1995 till current time such country side home to my grandparents wasn’t much to celebrate. Some of my grandparent departed, others relative migrated, and other younger generation seeking job far away from home. Our Christmas celebration has been in moderate scale in recent years but best to keep our young ones entertained and get them experience it, also best way to reunite all families and relative together. That’s what Christmas was all about which is why we have to celebrate.

Chinese New Year.
On the eve of chinese new year i don't feel very well as i'm down with flu.. 50% mostly stay back on bed for a rest. Throughout the day and night i could hear lots of crowd going in and out exchange greetings while at night our cousin organized a mini gig concert outside our grandma house compund. Friend, relative and neighbout comes to join in the festive event wich lasts overnight till 4am. On 1st day i was 80% ok able to move around with minimal flu effect. Me and the whole family went visiting our nearby relative and reunion. Its was quite a feast with foods, drinks, chatting and laughter. Were very delighted to meet them after year of absence from the festive scene especially me. Dumplings, cakes, biscuits, assorments of jerky, muchies and sweets was serve, i had my eye on everything chocolates, sweets, cheese and cuttlefish snacks. Was good for my stomach. Always keep the plate empty which is worth a day full of goodies. On the second day i'm 90% ok from flu, have to say farewell to my grandmother and cousins as i had to go home back to my hometown, i think my holidays was all food stuff well at least i get to meet my buddy the cat. As usual i never return empty handed from Limbang, got me cool r/c gadget from cool r/c stores, visit some restaurant, driving around places on my car around the Limbang and Brunei and took plenty of camera shots of Limbang scenery. That's worth it.

Forgot my own birthday today. Happy birthday.

My days is just like any normal day, i wake up, take bath, go to work, play and sleep. Regardless its holiday, special day or new year. Everyday is the same nothing surprise me or to be celebrated. Even today is my birthday, i just treat my birthday like normal days. Nothing special about today. As usually i just go about my daily do's and enjoy what i do best today solo.
I was surprise people over internet forum reminded me that today is my birthday. I'm glad and very happy that someone very distance, unseen, but united digitally/virtually do care much about personal thing. I'm very mature when using internet. I know my judgement when trust people over the net. Actually i trust peopler more over the internet rather than people around me that's is infront of me. Ya we know its a cruel world we live in but that a reality.
