TOYOTA FJ in the office

Another way to spent your quality hours during lunch break.  Glad its small and micro enough to enjoy crawling around the desk without too much commitment going outdoors with r/c friends.

Project: 1/36 Toyota FJ micro crawler

I like micro scale crawlers but the one i bought last year ago was YOKOMO NANOQLO isn't scale but just a tuber crawler. So since i had long holiday i decided to convert it into a scaler crawler.  I went to local toy shop, bought a coil spring operated "pull n go" car that have a very scale looking body which it was a 1/36 scale TOYOTA FJ CUISER.  I was doing research on youtube that someone also made a similar mods on his YOKOMO NANOQLO crawler on the very same scale bodies.  I strip off all the unecessary stuff from the models leaving just bodies shell, base chassis and interior cockpit,  carve out a cavity where the axles suppose to be and build artificial lingkage support, bar and pivot for the suspension placement.  8 hours later it was done.   I'm not a proud owner of 1/36 scale micro r/c TOYOTA FJ Cruiser rock crawler.  I think its the smallest scale looking rock crawler models ever built and every to be when compare with existing crawler that sold on commercial R/C market. Got all the neat details just like a real TOYOTA have.  To charge i just have to open the door to access the charging port and some goes to the on-off switch too.  Sadly the runtime cut by half due to its heavy semi metal die-cast body which put strain on the 1 cell lipo battery, it could be improve by replacing more higher capacity battery soon.   Overall it was a great effort and hours well spent on this project.  Finally i don't get bored on my desk, got nifty crawler to roam around obstacles, pencils, books, phones, keyboards and etc where 4WD is possible.

Crawl master

I still admire how this tiny high tech scaled model crawl around the obstacles and flexing its axle to the max. An inpiration to persuade me to create actual prototype models on my 3d program. Been doing some test for more than 70 hours. This stuff is awesome action sight to behold..

Mini QLo! Yay!

Finally my dream having a micro rc crawler at 1/24 scale come true. I got it from Rcmart.com Hong Kong via online. Surprisingly it took 3 days arrive from Hong Kong which same me from heart ache waiting for its arrive and just in time for weekend modification and customization. Thanks to Rcmart for their quick delivery. OMG! can't wait to try out this small micro piece of engineering!

Custom Rock crawler in 4x4 EVOLUTION?

There’s high possibility a Rock Crawler model is to be built but I’m not sure if its an R/C scale 1/10 models or actual real scale 1/1 vehicle. My outdoor activity with crawler models inspired me to create one since these stuff are technically challenging both driving and building it.

Crawler project gone high tech

Another fun time with some innovative outcome from my brain.
With same scraps taken from junks and few from incompatible MB4 parts all those good resources and material went over to my custom crawler.

-custom 2mm bore 6t pinion
-Yeah racing brushless fan for ESC
-3Racing fan + Yeah racing motor heat sink for dumping heat
-S3003 steering servo

No more over heat issue, longer runtime and more climbing power. All this works reminds me of my young days being inventive in Invention Club minus the budget. After successfull climb all those miscellaneous stuff around the house i hope i can bring it out again for real rock climbing activity.

ULTIMATE PROJECT CRAWLER COMPLETED!!! SUCCESS!!

After hours of hard work finally the conversion from stock mini monster truck to profesinal grade super crawler have finally reach its goal. Super flex torsion axle, longer stable stance and 100% terrain crawler with high power climbing rate equal to AXIAL AX10 crawling capability. With Tamiya CR01 driveshaft, MAMBA 25 ESC, 2.4Ghz and dual steering front and rear... no terrains or obstacles can stop this might beast. Would like to thanks our Member Crawler community from rctech for supply me crawler parts. This is rock crawler at its best! will post you the video too hehehehehehe...

First i would like to thanks to member of rctech (http://www.rctech.net) "Ecrawler" for reserving me his stock Huanqi mini monster (A-Tech Leo-x) for my conversion work to full pro spec crawler. Took me around 11 hours of work to convert an innocent shorty mini monster to extreme crawler spec.

Construction Material:
-------------------------------
-Huanqi mini monster stock models (1/20 scale - 'aka' A-Tech Leo-x model)
-2.4Ghz Sanwa receiver
-Castle Creation: MAMBA 25 Brushless ESC
-4x steel clip rods + 6x mini radio antenna (For lower axle push rod and mid drive shaft rods)
-4x extended slim push rods for front and rear steering and center axle positioning
-Lipo 2s 800mah 15c batt
-4x Plastic rod wall concrete insert ( for adapter to attached Tamiya CR01 adjustable drive shaft to axle and gear box)
-TAMIYA CR01 adjustable drive shaft

Useless stuff to be thrown off from chassis:
-------------------------------------------------------------
-Stock Rx and TX
-Stock 50A Brushed ESC
-Nimh 7.2v batt
-4x stock push rod axle
-2x short mid drive shaft

Work hours - 11hrs

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Performance:
What can i say it climbs like a spider!!!...that is when i use brushless 4200KV motor + 8T HPI RS4 micro pinion gear).
