Evening twin duel

I never missed any interesting outdoor activity. Today lucky me got a similar models (NRX-18) from our local forumer join in for duel race on wide open area for both drift and sprint. In just 30 minutes we enjoy ourself chasing around the big car park dashing and drift around. Aki my forum buddy just installed new 370 motor which i trade and got me a used transmitter box for my project. We had great times. Both brushless system and brush was very competitive duel.

Limited SUBARU WRC...last spare

Just 4 hours ago i manage to quickly browse in to our local toy store and grab limited edition SUBARU WRC body shell which will be ripped off and used back into KYOSHO MINI-Z...although i did have one previously but this time i bought another same model for spare and future use for clean run and display. I learn my lesson from the past, "if you like it then get it with no regrets, else you'll be sorry forever". I rather not taking my chances having to wait months for another stock replacement or maybe gone forever

Another costly bad luck.

I spent all afternoon enjoying hours of radio control drive around the track when suddenly accident struck. Two of my MINI-Z suffer costly parts damage as shown in the picture. Now currently order new stocks of parts and some upgrades amounting more than RM$500! YEah, yeah...i know this is hobby. Passion worth more than just anything in life.

A new buddy along with my ride

..

Its very hard to cope with multiple hobby especially when i suppose to go out riding my mountain bikes but still my mind stuck also with R/C racing. So i decide to put thse monster truck hunch back behind me tied to my camelback hydration back and away we go into potential off-roading trails. Bulk and looks weird when riding along the path especially when people see you hunch back with big truck behind your back..but who cares as long you have fun at the end of the day. 2 hobby in 1 day...hooo.hhoooo... here my picture of the day.

Saturday day out.

No surprise now i'm much back again into Radio Control scene after absent for years. The parts getting cheaper and the trends also pushing up way popular then ever. I've already put my investment into few hobby grade R/C models and daily wnet outdoor for fulltime spin around local ground if i'm not onto mountain biking for the day which pretty much explain why i'm relax a day after the ride. Last Saturday evening me and my buddy who's on bigfoot bettle doing some off-roading near the beach but i've settle some technical problem for 1 hours then manage to get going later on the dirt. I've spent 30 minutes fulltime swing around and jump on the dirt with my truck doing some big air and then flip tumble 360 degree and back on its wheel again ready to sprint all over the track. It was fun pastime and great way to be outdoor watching me driving along with friends remotely on miniature car/trucks. As usually there always few trade off after fun bashing around the dirt...yeah back at home always been maintenance work, lubricating, adjusting suspension setup, tunning the electronics and unlucky me i had broken servo which cost me few bucks to fix it but its no biggy.

Night tuning.

Like everytime after several runs tuning is a neccessity. Like this one it need chamber and toe adjustment plus i need to put cement solution onto the loose pinion gear near the ESC module. Hopefully tomorrow i have less tuning work and get back to the modelling and design work. Oh no! Its working days tomorrow.!!!

Fun afternoon with R/C

Here's what me and my buddy enjoy this afternoon. We have superb spin off around the track near the seaside. Luckily i bring over 3 sets of battery cell to me hours of fun time. Good thing is that the weather was superb fine and the wind blew strong cooling us off while having fun chasing around the track. My holidays well spent.

Charging...charging...charging...

Wish i have fast charger...this taking longer then expected...ermmm....arggghhh. Going to run 3 cars later.

Happy labour day! time to enjoy!

Ah!! its holiday today. Time to ignite back passion on mini-z rc cars, through sleepless night i've fixed back and tune in the X-mod and MINI-Z for next afternoon run.

Part1: GT car test drive - country side.

We just had test tuning and racing. I'm test out some tuned X3-SIXTY car againts NEMIXIS. At the same time i test out how my X3-SIXTY perform against its big brother NEMIXIS as i'm going to transfer some tuned *.TRK performance file into upcoming "EXAGE" models which currently in progress building. The results it turn out that short body configuration wouldn't fit on EXAGE because it spins a lot instead should adopt NEMIXIS long body configuration. I hope i could finish building EXAGE models before end of this month or at best before mid month.

Yes! Its fixed!! ready to run!

Thanks to Mr Foo the NRX-18 is fixed, ESC board cleaned, servo mechanism replaced with new ones (added cost) plus place permanent screw to the servo hub to avoid slippage. He manage to fine tune the speed and now it runs super fast! and feels like new. Hopefully tomorrow i'll bring out mini-z and NRX-18 for field action.

Woohooo!! got me NRX-18 RC scale 1/18!

Finally i manage to get my hands on special 1/18 R/C models designed by Mr. HIROSAKA manufactured by NANDA Racing (www.nandaracing.com). After i finish several 3d design project last week i manage to receive payment from the client, small portion of the profit used to purchase my favorite R/C car from local store at FOO Brothers R/C shop. Low slung chassis, 4wd transmission, durable high impact main frame, fast and much better than my mini-z. This month i wanted to try out several test and play around before further purchasing accessories and hop-up. Hopefully this one can mount the fun during my boring times. Hoping to tune it max above 100km/h with Lipo battery and hot motors.

Anyways despite having fun i need to devided my time for special project given by customer. Looks like more fund coming in! Yeah time to top up my hobby!

Texturing and UV mapping , the wheels finally looks alive!

Ahhh!! check this out. Its done! Fresh from the oven. The rendering, texturing and UV mapping process of texture have completed for the wheel itself. Didn't take that long. Corel and Z-modeler tools always the best choice. It looks awesome! As usual the wheels looks realistic as usual. Handy work hee hee.. Well i guess thats it for today. I'll continue with the body texturing and rendering tomorrow.

New FIREX DS8-XL wheel - phase 2 construct

Ok, its done, fresh mesh with new flange styling for my new concept muscle car wheels. First glance it looks pretty much retro in concept with thick tyres and robust pindle offset but thats how it should blend with the retro looks of the car. I've tried several wheels size, tyre profile size and variable center offset but i decided to choose this spec. This design give a special feeling to retro lover and viewer. It has this muscle thing, hot wheel taste, like looking at Diecast car or toys adored by big boys. Thick drag tyre means business and always a symbol of powerful acceleration and phat factor. It took me 5 hours and extensive brain power to get the wheel right and match the car looks. As planned this wheel model will be called as: "FIREX DS8-XL"
I think thats about it for 3d building task, yay! Finally i can go to next phase: Rendering and texturing. This is my favorite part where this car go *Bling!. But it takes top notch hardware to do that. Yes, its time to pump up the power of Nvidia graphic card. First will render the wheel texturing. Lets go!
