Prototype CD18's wheel set.

Today i continue with the Prototype CD18 designs for 4x4evo1/2. I decided to design the models parts by parts according to my mood. So i was in the mood making only for the wheel set first. Since the models going to be an off-roader/SUV i decided to come up with a beefy design, tough looks and also modern urban feeling of stock vehicle style. I took me almost 3 hours to think a better design idea for the wheels. At first i want to avoid using 5 spoke/flanged wheel set design but most of the ordinary ideas been taken out by commercial designs and if i do there would be some duplicates design which put out from the unique list. Because of that i started to design something simple, i took the "0" zero shape and flatten one end and bent it a little arch outward bulky from the "0" shape to create enclosed circular spoke to make up the beefy and urban stock appearance. A single "0" spoke took hefty amount of polygon construction. Then i duplicate about 6 spokes and each object to be rotated by 72 degree sequentially side by side to create 5 petal configuration. Then the most simple part of all is grab a wheel from NEMIXIS - XETA wheels, remove the "Y" flange spoke and resize the tyre according to required standard. Salvaging some old parts sometimes save development time by 70% and it worth it. The new "0" spokes fits well inside the wheels hollow structure. 15 small extra tension bolts that circulate around the perimeter and hidden well behind the "0" flange have been deleted to reduce the polycount burden when render in the simulation. The total amount of polycount (not finalised) is: Vertices=6496 and Faces = 6258. Comparison to the old ZETA wheel set is: Vertices=8851 and Faces 7930. An improvement in poly reduction. Due to the robust amount of poly i have no intention to add the tyre threading/grip patterns because this will increase the polycount much further. Instead just used bumped texture to emulate the grip patterns looks. Later i should work out on the wheels texture.
